Daily Scripture: Year 2, Day 50

From Handbook to Renewal

The Attributes of God

I will enter the Lord’s gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise; I will give thanks to Him and bless His name. For the Lord is good and His lovingkindness endures forever; His faithfulness continues through all generations. (Psalm 100:45)

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort. (2 Corinthians 1:3)

The Works of God

You save the humble but bring low those whose eyes are haughty. (Psalm 18:27)

The Lord guides the humble in what is right and teaches the humble His way. (Psalm 25:9)

My Relationship to God

I have set the Lord always before me; because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken. Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices; my body also will rest in hope. You will make known to me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy; in Your right hand are pleasures forever. (Psalm 16:89, 11)

“The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “therefore I will wait for Him.” The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul who seeks Him. It is good to hope silently for the salvation of the Lord. (Lamentations 3:2426)

The Character I Want to Cultivate

The waywardness of the simple will kill them, and the complacency of fools will destroy them; but whoever listens to wisdom will live securely and be at ease from the fear of evil. (Proverbs 1:3233)

He who trusts in his own heart is a fool, but he who walks in wisdom will be delivered. (Proverbs 28:26)

My Relationship to Others

An anxious heart weighs a man down, but a good word makes him glad. (Proverbs 12:25)

God comforts us in all our afflictions, so that we can comfort those in any affliction with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. (2 Corinthians 1:4)
