When we talk about stewardship, we tend to think about finances and giving. However, God also calls us to be good stewards of the time He gives us. Like other resources, our time on this earth is limited. Scripture reminds us of the fleeting nature of this resource all across its pages. As James pointedly remarks, “You are just a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes away” (James 4:14b NASB). Likewise, Paul exhorts believers to “be careful how you walk, not as unwise men but as wise, making the most of your time, because the days are evil” (Ephesians 5:15–16 NASB). God has given us a limited amount of time in this life on earth. Let us have an eternal perspective and use it wisely.
