The external narratives of the world should not define our identity.
Instead, we need to see our identity as coming primarily from being a follower a Christ. That is the source of our vitality. After all, God has brought us near to Himself by the blood of Jesus.
This means we have confident access to God through Christ. We are able to pray to God and know that He listens to and cares for us. He will supply all our needs, and His peace will guard our hearts and minds. Out of this peace, we will be able to do the good works that He has called us to do.
