From Handbook to Wisdom, Day 132 (Promises)

Faith is the victory that overcomes the world,
and my faith is in the person and work
of the Son of God.

Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God,
and everyone who loves the Father loves Him who is begotten of Him.
Whatever is born of God overcomes the world,
and this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.
Who is he who overcomes the world,
but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?
(1 John 5:1, 4–5)

Father, I have come to believe that Jesus is the Christ, Your only begotten Son. This is the faith that empowers me to overcome the world. In Him I have received the new birth and I have come to love You and Your Son. Amen.
