LIVE WITH THE END IN VIEW
Direct my footsteps according to Your word,
and let no iniquity have dominion over me.
(Psalm 119:133)
The hour has come for me to wake up from sleep,
for my salvation is nearer now than when I first believed.
The night is nearly over; the day is almost here.
Therefore I will cast off the works of darkness
and put on the armor of light.
(Romans 13:11–12)
O Lord, may I live out my days with an eye to the end of my earthly endeavors so that I will treasure the things You have declared to be important rather than the things the world urges me to seek. I want to cast off the works of darkness, order my footsteps according to Your word, and put on the armor of light. Amen.
