FOLLOW THE LORD,
NOT THE CROWD
I will not follow the crowd in doing wrong.
(Exodus 23:2)
There are six things the Lord hates,
seven that are detestable to Him:
haughty eyes,
a lying tongue,
hands that shed innocent blood,
a heart that devises wicked plans,
feet that run swiftly to evil,
a false witness who breathes lies,
and one who causes strife among brothers.
(Proverbs 6:16–19)
Lord, I wish to be pleasing to You, and I desire a growth in the holy fear of displeasing You through indulgence in the things You have revealed that You hate. Keep me far from pride, deception, bloodguilt, wickedness, evil actions, slander, and strife—and draw me to the beauty and innocence of holiness. Amen.
