Daily Encouragement: Day 200

From Handbook to Wisdom, Day 200

BE SLOW TO ANGER

He who is slow to anger is better than the mighty,
and he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city.
(Proverbs 16:32)

In my anger I will not sin;
I will not let the sun go down while I am still angry,
and I will not give the devil a foothold.
(Ephesians 4:26–27)

Heavenly Father, may I have the wisdom and skill to restrain myself and practice self-control during the times when my patience is tested and my desires are thwarted. May I practice graceful discipline and disciplined grace as I seek to respond to unpredictable circumstances with calmness, poise, grace, and peace. Amen.
