Daily Scripture: Year 2, Day 35

From Handbook to Renewal

The Attributes of God

It is good to give thanks to the Lord and to sing praises to Your name, O Most High, to declare Your lovingkindness in the morning and Your faithfulness at night. (Psalm 92:12)

How precious are Your thoughts to me, O God! How vast is the sum of them! If I should count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand. When I awake, I am still with You. (Psalm 139:1718)

The Works of God

The Son of Man went up to Jerusalem where He was delivered to the chief priests and to the scribes. They condemned Him to death and handed Him over to the Gentiles, who mocked Him and spat upon Him, and scourged Him and killed Him. But on the third day He rose again. (Mark 10:3334)

After His resurrection, Jesus said to the two disciples on the road to Emmaus, “Did not the Christ have to suffer these things and then enter His glory?” And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, He explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning Himself. Later, He appeared to His disciples and said to them, “These are the words I spoke to you while I was still with you, that everything must be fulfilled that is written about Me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms.” (Luke 24:2627, 44)

My Relationship to God

I will not let sin reign in my mortal body that I should obey its lusts. Nor will I present the members of my body to sin, as instruments of wickedness, but I will present myself to God as one who is alive from the dead and my members as instruments of righteousness to God. (Romans 6:1213)

In view of God’s mercy, I present my body as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God, which is my reasonable service. (Romans 12:1)

The Character I Want to Cultivate

This is the one You esteem: he who is humble and contrite of spirit, and who trembles at Your word. (Isaiah 66:2b)

Who makes me different from anyone else? And what do I have that I did not receive? And if I did receive it, why I should I boast as though I had not received it? (1 Corinthians 4:7)

My Relationship to Others

My love must be sincere. I will hate what is evil and cling to what is good. (Romans 12:9)

I will rejoice with those who rejoice and weep with those who weep. (Romans 12:15)
