Daily Scripture: Year 2, Day 36

From Handbook to Renewal

The Attributes of God

Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God. (Matthew 16:16)

Jesus is the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Him. (John 14:6)

The Works of God

The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ, and He will reign for ever and ever. (Revelation 11:15)

You are the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To him who is thirsty, You will give to drink without cost from the spring of the water of life. He who overcomes will inherit all this, and You will be his God and he will be Your son. (Revelation 21:67)

My Relationship to God

I will incline my ear and come to You; I will hear You, that my soul may live. (Isaiah 55:3)

Everyone who hears Your words and does them is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. (Matthew 7:24)

The Character I Want to Cultivate

I will endure discipline, for God is treating me as a son. For what son is not disciplined by his father? If I am without discipline, of which all have become partakers, then I am an illegitimate child and not a true son. Moreover, we have all had human fathers who disciplined us, and we respected them; how much more should I be subjected to the Father of spirits and live? (Hebrews 12:79)

Our fathers disciplined us for a little while as they thought best, but God disciplines us for our good, that we may share in His holiness. No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful; later on, however, it produces the peaceable fruit of righteousness for those who have been trained by it. (Hebrews 12:1011)

My Relationship to Others

I will not repay anyone evil for evil, but I will seek to do what is right in the sight of all men. (Romans 12:17)

I will not repay evil for evil to anyone, but I will pursue what is good for others. (1 Thessalonians 5:15)
