Daily Scripture: Year 2, Day 40

From Handbook to Renewal

The Attributes of God

To the Lord my God belongs the heavens, even the highest heavens, the earth and everything in it. (Deuteronomy 10:14)

There is none like You, O Lord; You are great, and Your name is mighty in power. Who should not revere You, O King of the nations? It is Your rightful due. For among all the wise men of the nations and in all their kingdoms, there is no one like You. (Jeremiah 10:67)

The Works of God

There will be no temple in the new Jerusalem, because the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. The city will not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp. The nations will walk by its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their splendor into it. And its gates will never be shut by day, for there will be no night there. (Revelation 21:2225)

There will no longer be any curse. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the new Jerusalem, and His servants will serve Him. They will see His face, and His name will be on their foreheads. And there will be no night there; they will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light. And they shall reign for ever and ever. (Revelation 22:35)

My Relationship to God

I lift up my eyes to the hills—where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth. He will not allow my foot to slip; He who watches over me will not slumber. The Lord is my keeper; the Lord is my shade at my right hand. The sun will not harm me by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord will keep me from all evil; He will preserve my soul. The Lord will watch over my coming and going from this time forth and forever. (Psalm 121:13, 58)

Even to my old age, You are the same, and even to my gray hairs You will carry me. You have made me, and You will bear me; You will sustain me and You will deliver me. (Isaiah 46:4)

The Character I Want to Cultivate

I will commit my works to the Lord, and my plans will be established. (Proverbs 16:3)

I want my conscience to testify that I have conducted myself in the world in the holiness and sincerity that are from God, not in fleshly wisdom but in the grace of God, especially in my relations with others. (2 Corinthians 1:12)

My Relationship to Others

If someone is caught in a trespass, we who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness, considering ourselves, lest we also be tempted. (Galatians 6:1)

We should let the word of Christ dwell in us richly as we teach and admonish one another with all wisdom and as we sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs with gratitude in our hearts to God. (Colossians 3:16)
