Daily Scripture: Year 2, Day 42

From Handbook to Renewal

The Attributes of God

Jesus proved through His works that the Father is in Him, and that He is in the Father. (John 10:38)

Jesus knew that the Father had given all things into His hands and that He had come from God and was returning to God. (John 13:3)

The Works of God

The Lord stretches out the heavens, lays the foundation of the earth, and forms the spirit of man within him. (Zechariah 12:1)

Since the creation of the world God’s invisible attributes—His eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. (Romans 1:20)

My Relationship to God

The righteous shall rejoice in the Lord and trust in Him, and all the upright in heart shall glory. (Psalm 64:10)

I will sing to the Lord as long as I live; I will sing praise to my God while I have my being. May my meditation be pleasing to Him; I will be glad in the Lord. (Psalm 104:3334)

The Character I Want to Cultivate

I will guard my heart with all diligence, for out of it flow the issues of life. (Proverbs 4:23)

Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good report—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—I will think about such things. The things I have learned and received and heard and seen in those who walk with Christ I will practice, and the God of peace will be with me. (Philippians 4:89)

My Relationship to Others

I will avoid foolish and ignorant disputes, knowing that they produce quarrels. The Lord’s servant must not quarrel, but be gentle toward all, able to teach, and patient. (2 Timothy 2:2324)

I will not return evil for evil or insult for insult, but blessing instead, because to this I was called, that I may inherit a blessing. (1 Peter 3:9)
