Practicing the Presence of God: Part 27
Dr. Boa picks up where he left off last week, looking at the way our brains are wired for communication on two levels. We can be “praying without ceasing” and engaging in the world simultaneously.
Dr. Boa picks up where he left off last week, looking at the way our brains are wired for communication on two levels. We can be “praying without ceasing” and engaging in the world simultaneously.
Dr. Boa discusses how our brains are wired, and how it seems God has actually prepared us to live in constant conversation with him, while engaging in this world simultaneously. We can live on two levels. God has made our brains to function this way; it just takes training.
Dr. Boa looks at some ancient and modern practices of those who sought life in God’s presence.
Is there scientific evidence that suggests that a Creator exists? Modern critics of Christianity often claim faith and science are opposed. However, history reveals that many of the great progenitors of modern science were faithful Christians.
Dr. Boa continues his discussion of the work and spiritual habits of two great practitioners of God’s presence: Frank Laubach and Brother Lawrence.
Dr. Boa teaches that the “good life” (by the world’s definitions) will never be enough for us, because we were made for something much better. We can break out of the cages of the world’s way of thinking, living on the level of intimacy with God while also being present with people.
